Survey Junkie asking for postcard verification?

I tried to redeem my points but couldn't and I put in my phone number for verification. I also emailed support, but the rep got back to me and said they need my address. They'll send a postcard with a code that I have to respond to the email with? Is this normal? I said I already put my number in for phone verification but they said that wasn't possible as they want to verify location. Has this happened to anyone else before? I've heard of phone verification but never postcard, or that phone wasn't possible?
