Anyone tried Crowdville?

Its asking for my NI number which I don't mind giving but I am wondering if anyone has ever had problems? What I am trying to get at is I dont inform HMRC what I earn as I don't need to as I am way under the threshold to do so so do they inform HMRC if I have earnt? Also is it worth joining? Are the projects any good?
