YourSurveys locked my account (incorrectly I believe)

Hello survey geeks,

Your comments / remarks / questions are welcome.

I share my broadband connection with a family member who lives in the property next door (not in my apartment, different household), and both of us are actively into surveys using Grabpoints during this period of locked down due to the pandemic. 2-3 days ago I started to hotspot my MacBook temporarily from my mobile as the billing cycle was coming to an end and there was a lot of unused data on the plan for the mobile. My family member continued using my home WiFi.

After doing about 2-3 surveys via your-surveys.com using Grabpoints my account got locked. And my family member didn't. I reached out to tech support, raised a ticket and they got back to me next day saying:

We have detected you may have a proxy installed or active on your device. If you are unsure on what might be causing the issue then we can provide more information such as the date we first detected the proxy to see if that help narrow down the cause, you could also share any recent apps or programs recently installed so we can see if they are likely the issue. Please note that while some blocks are permanent, many blocks can be resolved with your cooperation.

Despite being confident I had so VPN/proxy/or any such software installed on my Mac I shared a list of possible suspects under applications - Ad Blocker, FileZilla, Malwarebytes just to prove my innocence and uninstalled them. They responded next day:

Thank you for your reply. The issue occurred twice on 2020-05-04.

Please check the settings of the applications for an enabled proxy or VPN.

I know that is the date I used mobile hotspot on and did not install any software whatsoever. It has got to be a false positive! Mac as it is has multiple layers of inbuilt security that would prompt me to enter my password before anything gets installed. And install software or doing offers that install stuff I never do; I just complete surveys. I checked my Safari browser for any installed extensions - zero.

They ultimately cleared my account to use today but it was an unnecessary hassle. I do strongly suspect using the hotspot caused my IP to change (obviously) as my family member (who never got blocked) continued doing surveys on your-surveys without any problems. None of the other survey routers complained about it, neither did GrabPoints.

You folks, does anything stand out to you or come to your mind that I should do before I resume surveying? Despite being a pain they are the only ones providing surveys highest in value. Nearly all survey portals use them. I don't want this to happen again, and I'm not gonna hotspot or access surveys from any internet connection other than my home WiFi. That's my takeaway for now.

Thank you!
