Receiving prepaid visa over email

Hello,

The app I use has the option to receive reward through prepaid virtual visa. I've never used virtual cards, so I have no idea what they will send me in email, so I need to know if it works same as a normal prepaid card, like registering them online and stuff. If you had any experience with these type of things, please share them with me
