What is authorization amount in a prepaid gift card?

Hello.. recently my friend send me a 50 MC GC. I tried funding one account with 25 via g2a. G2A took 1.5 usd as a fee so total came down to 26.5 but when I checked the transactions it showed $37 to be authorisation amount and settled amount is 26.5

What does this mean? I lost the rest of the money?
