PSA: PhonePaycheck is changing performance requirements for qualifying devices

I just received the following email:

Dear PhonePaycheck User,

We wish everyone the best during this difficult time of global health crisis.

Tomorrow, we will be updating our PhonePaycheck Payment Schedule. This is necessary to keep our Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories up-to-date as processor technology improves each year, and as our Cloud Computing competitors continually upgrade their devices.

Here is a summary of the changes we will be making to our Payment Schedule, based on Device Performance Rating (DPR):

Gold Devices: Old range was DPR>=24. New range is DPR>=48. Example devices in the new Gold range include Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S10, and Galaxy S20. Silver Devices: Old range was 11<=DPR<24. New range is 24<=DPR<48. Example devices in the new Silver range include Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S8. Bronze Devices: Old range was 2<=DPR<11. New range is 11<=DPR<24. Example devices in the new Bronze range include Samsung Galaxy J7. Devices with DPR<11 will no longer to be able to earn with PhonePaycheck. We are sorry that their performance is not competitive for modern customer work.

This change will take effect on Friday, May 1, 2020. At that time, we will publish a revised list of device brands and models in each of the Gold, Silver and Bronze categories. And as always, you can check on the rating and category of any device by looking at its Device Properties page in the PhonePaycheck app.

Existing PhonePaycheck users with activated devices will still keep their allocation of activated devices, and are always free to de-activate existing devices and activate new devices with better ratings to improve their earnings.

We thank you for being a PhonePaycheck user, and for working with us as we make this necessary transition to grow and improve our population of devices for commercial service. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us at support@neocortix.com.

Sincerely, The PhonePaycheck Team Neocortix, Inc.

This is unfortunate for me as the device I was using was already at the bronze tier and will soon stop earning.
