Making an idle game (app) that pays the player for playing further
So I made a post the other day about running a website that tosses out some coin to my favorite community, but the reality check of low paying ads hit and I decided to scrap the idea.
However! I’m back with another idea and wanted to get some more input. I wanna make something that this community can make a bit of dough doing, while being more entertained than doing a quiz for a fraction of a penny.
General idea: Progressive idle game (app) that allows you to earn more money the further into the game you go.
The issue: Determining how much money I can reasonably toss out to players while not losing money myself.
Let me know what you all think about this. I have ways to acquire the capital needed to support hiring a dev team to make the app, but I was wondering about the general feasibility of it.
Games that pay money without requiring money draw in tons of people, and thankfully those same people tend to give up before reaching the cash out limit. However, if you could make just as much money spending time on this game as you could with beermoney activities, would you do it?
Lastly, if this is something that’d interest you, would you mind posting any stats (personal or otherwise) about how much per hour successful beermoney users make? I could never make anything worthwhile personally, but I did cash out a few times. I probably averaged $0.05/hour back in the day. I was also bad at it and spent more time reading posts on reddit than actually doing the tasks, so that affects my stat haha.
