Respondent Work Email Question

In order to participate in a " Professional Research Study" I need to verify my work email. Are there any negatives that come with this? Usually I just use one of my burner emails for things that I would expect to get spammed or if there was a risk of information compromise.

Basically I am asking if this is safe, I don't need the IT guy at work loosing his shit on me for a breach or something. I need my 9-5 more than I do some extra money from Respondent.
