(Usually I try to wait until I have payment proof before encouraging a new app/site, but because this is from National Consumer Panel, and because it takes 10+ weeks to be eligible for a cashout, I'm going to post this here and let y'all decide if you want to use it or not. No referral system -- this post isn't for my benefit, it's for yours.)
NCP ReCap is yet another receipt app, developed by National Consumer Panel, which is owned by Nielsen. They released this receipt scanning app approximately 2 months ago on iOS and Android.
- $0.05 (5 cents) minimum earned per receipt
- Maximum 10 receipts per week
- $5.00 minimum cashout
- Pays Amazon gift card or Visa e-gift card
Points System Breakdown
The points system they have gives you 50 points per receipt, maximum of 500 points earned per week. The minimum cashout you have available is 5000 points for $5.00. As you save up for larger cashouts, you can redeem less points for more money, which will actually start to make each receipt worth a little more money. If you wait to cash out until $10.00 or $25.00, each receipt will be worth 11% or 20% more than if you cash out at $5.00. Please keep in mind that this app is new and does not yet have a long track record or any kind of reputation whatsoever. NCP/Nielsen can end the program at any time. Hoard your points at your own risk.
- $5.00 - 5,000 points || $0.05 (5 cents) per receipt || Amazon GC
- $10.00 - 9,000 points || $0.0556 (5.56 cents) per receipt || Amazon GC or Visa GC
- $25.00 - 21,000 points || $0.0595 (5.95 cents) per receipt || Amazon GC or Visa GC
- $50.00 - 41,000 points || $0.061 (6.1 cents) per receipt || Visa GC
The FAQ says they will accept any receipt from anywhere, as long as it includes the business name, receipt date, and total amount. You can only submit a maximum of 10 receipts per week. The receipts must not be older than 14 days. The FAQ also says each receipt is 1 entry into some kind of monthly sweepstakes, but they don't go into what the prize amounts are.
Survey section
The app also has a Surveys section where you can take surveys for more in-app points. I am guessing that they will give surveys that are related to specific stores you shop at or specific items you purchase. I have not received a survey yet so I don't have much to say about this, but I have received surveys from other receipt apps (ReceiptPal and ReceiptHog) that were definitely related to items I had purchased.
Wrap Up
At 500 points per week, it's possible to earn an additional $25.00 to $30.00 per year with this receipt app. They don't have the highest rates (bless you, ReceiptPal) but they certainly aren't the worst rates in the world of receipt scanning apps.
As I said at the beginning, I don't have any payment proof. Actually, since this was only released 8 weeks ago and it takes 10 weeks or more to be eligible to cash out, nobody will have payment proof for at least another 2 weeks. I usually do not encourage people to recommend new sites/apps that haven't paid anybody yet, but Nielsen/NCP is a pretty huge and trusted name. I believe they will pay and therefore, I did not want to wait and deprive y'all 9 weeks of potential earning.
If you're already using other receipt apps -- Mikazah made a great and very comprehensive list here -- I feel like you may as well add this to your routine.
