UBDI - Get paid for your data

A few weeks ago I heard an interview on NPR with someone from UBDI website here.

Their concept is that so many companies are using your data to make money off of you, why shouldn't you control that data and get a cut. Between the UBDI app and their other app digi.me, you connect your social media, fitness tracking, finance, etc (whatever you feel comfortable with) and they shop that data to companies. You will get surveys to give them more data which you'll get paid for, but the passive aspect is, if any company buys the data that you've already shared, you get "automated earnings".

So I tried it.

It's still quite new and no one has bought my data yet - sad day. I think that because it's still in beta, there aren't many companies using it yet. However, I filled out all of the surveys and got $9 USD. They use Stripe for payments.
