A friendly reminder to those of you that use Privacy Cards...
Hi there!
Some of you may know me as Lion Biscuits, the administrator over on gain.gg..
Privacy cards are an excellent option for one-time purchases of all kinds, and I respect the service that they provide greatly. It's a fantastic alternative to forking over your credit/debit card details in order to complete an offer.
HOWEVER...
For paid offers that specifically ask you to sign-up/subscribe to their service, please consider utilizing your actual credit card. And if you end up not wanting the service, sure, go ahead and request that cancellation. That's a-ok. What's not ok is using privacy cards as an alternative to cancellations because it's too much of a hassle to contact them. They'll attempt to charge the card you provided at the renewal date and gets rejected.
Over the past few months of running some basic stats and while reviewing our site's chargebacks, the wide majority of them are for users that utilized privacy cards on subscription services.
TLDR: Please don't use privacy cards on subscription services such as Hulu, BarkBox, etc. It will definitely cause chargebacks. And contrary to popular belief, this hurts GPT sites. Not the Offerwall Providers.
