War and Magic - tips on reaching 1 million power

War and Magic is mobile game you can play for points on various sites (swagbucks, tapjoy, etc.).

I have 15 days to reach 1 million power. Other offers seem to be variations on this (like 7 days to reach 500K power). I'm 7 days in and half way there at 500K power. I'd have way more if I hadn't made newbie mistakes. Feel free to add to this or contradict what I'm advising, I'm not a regular player of this sort of game.

  • You get power by training troops. To get troops...
  1. Follow the tutorial until you have 4 training camps.
  2. ALWAYS keep these 4 camps busy training troops.
  3. Upgrade the training camps every so often until they're at level 8 or so. Upgrades let you train more troops at a time.
  4. Each training camp will train 4 different kinds of troops, but each camp specializes in one type of troop - you can train double the number of this troop in the same amount of time. For instance, train archers in the archery range.
  5. One type of troop is always on sale. Buy the cheapest if you're low on resources. You're not building a balanced army, you just want to collect troops.
  6. There's a 5th training camp called the Void Gate. It's an odd one. Just keep it training troops.
  7. The only other way to increase power that I know of is to upgrade troops. Tap on Rally Point, then tap Upgrade Soldiers. It seems more expensive than training new troops, but it's worth it if you have extra resources.

  • Training troops costs food and lumber, so keep enough of these on hand to continuously train more troops.
  1. Follow the tutorial until you have 3 farms and 3 sawmills.
  2. Upgrade the farms and sawmills to increase production. Mine are at level 8.
  3. Use farm and sawmill boosts if you have them, they'll increase production.
  4. Build more farms and sawmills outside your castle. Tap on a square near your castle and tap the Territory button. Harvest them as much as you can.

  • The Hall of War building determines the maximum power
  1. You MUST upgrade this building to level 6 if you want to go up to 1 million power. This doesn't have to be done right away, training troops takes a long time.
  2. Upgrading this building costs Battle Horns, so buy them if you come across them.

  • Never attack other players, this will permanently kill your troops and you'll have to train them again
  1. Joining alliance raids or battles will also kill troops.
  2. Don't piece together a treasure map and try to raid the treasure trove. You'll kill your troops.
  3. It's fine to attack the little bands of enemies on the map. They'll injure your troops, but you can heal them.

  • Follow the tutorial until the upgrade costs get ridiculous.
  1. There's a metric f*ck ton of crap to do in this game. You'll knock out the prerequisites and earn bonuses by doing what the game tells you to.
  2. There's a note in the lower left corner telling you what to do next.

  • Miscellaneous
  1. Join an alliance asap to get bonuses. There are lots of alliances that will take anyone instantly.
  2. Don't waste resources on expensive unnecessary upgrades. Save your food and lumber to train troops and make necessary upgrades.
  3. There are lots of little things to do that might earn bonuses, like giving your hero equipment. It can be worth it, but keep an eye on your resources.
  4. In the beginning you'll be upgrading a lot of buildings. Use your gold to buy VIP status so that you can upgrade 2 buildings at a time.
  5. Fight the little bands of enemies on the map. You'll get supplies, gold, and lots of random crap you'll want.
  6. Gold coins are the main currency, the one they want you to pay actual dollars for. They can be used to buy anything. Be careful, it's super easy to accidentally tap the wrong thing and spend gold.
  7. Don't bother to forge the lowest level of equipment for your hero. You'll get a ton for free in chests, etc.
  8. Visit the brothel in the Tulip Pub and go on "dates" (no, really, this is actually in the game). The boosts are worth it.
  9. Visit the academy and tap on Research. The Resource Science section is worth upgrading.
  10. Visit the Adventure in the Tulip Pub. This doesn't cost food or lumber and will deliver bonuses.
  11. Visit the Arena and fight people. You won't lose actually lose troops.
  12. Visit the Altar and tap on Wish. It will give you a few free supplies every day.
  13. Visit the Traveling Shop and tap on Treasure. If you open a chest and the button isn't marked free or you don't have a key for the chest, it will deduct gold without a confirmation.

Jesus, that was more than I meant to write. There's a lot more in the game, but this is everything I think will help you increase your power.

I'm doing this through MobilePoints, my new favorite site for doing app offers. This particular app is worth $15. They pay out in 2 or 3 days. Non-ref link: https://beta.mobilepoints.co ref link: http://mpts.io/203 These links need to be opened in a mobile browser.
