Appen Linguistics Job

I just wanna ask if anybody here was able to take a linguistics job in Appen? Most jobs that I heard from people are either social media and/or search evaluation. I wonder how was the job? Is it doable for a first timer without any background of linguistics in college? Any related replies would be appreciated. Thank you.
