Anyone have any advice for turning an unused but functional smart phone or tablet into a "beermoney bot"? Is it still done?

Any recent success in monetizing an idle device and an internet connection? You could once run Swagbucks Watch without having to physically be using the phone but it would appear they have put an end to this. Have they?

I don't see "bots" or whatever I'm describing is called discussed that often but I only minimally lurk this sub.

Any apps or systems anyone uses in combination with an unused device to watch videos automatically, view ads, or complete some other task that can be automated for money?

I will warn anyone that this is probably against the TOS of almost anything, so tread carefully.

Anything else I can do to get some value from an old device besides selling it?
