What's Hot and What's Not in July. What's New and What's News.

July is a bit of a slump month and things are trending down for the month. My central air isnt keeping up and Im hot so I work slower. Plus I was sick for a couple days. Hopefully you are all having a better month than me!

Apologies for the weird formatting this month. Using paragraphs in the Whats Not section makes the bullet points look weird

Whats Hot:

  • Hideout.tv - Surprised to see im averaging about 1000 hideout points a day right now. And mainly on one device and not yet using the firestick (because im lazy).

  • Prolific Academic - PA does not seem to be having a summer slump this year. Have seen surveys almost daily. Totals are on pace of last month.

  • Volkno - Not only has volkno started paying again, but right now as Im typing this, they have at least $31 in videos for people to watch and rate. So if you havent used em in a while or never have, you might want to check em out.

Whats Not

Gain.gg - This past weekend Gain did a 2 hour live stream to give away some Amazon Gift cards while celebrated a payout milestone. After watching it, I personally have decided that until the owner understands that they are running a business, and not some frat party game, I will include them in my "programs I will can not use or recommend".

The stream was done while the owner was getting drunk. A Racial slur was used multiple times in a row as some ill advised attempt of humor. The owner did a survey on a well known survey router, only after showing one account being banned, then switching accounts to get around the ban, violating the survey router TOS at least one and maybe twice.

If this is the kind of stuff the owner and his friends are willing to do while publicly being watched on a live stream, what do they do while the cameras arent on? Do they often access the backend of their program, with all the sensitive info, while drunk? And if their main survey router bans me, can I just make a 2nd gain gg account to get around it? I mean if the owner does it...

The owner did issue an apology on twitter for the use of the slur, and while I do believe it was just said to be funny and didnt have intentions of hatred, it doesnt address the other issues and I wonder if this apology was sincere and not just bowing to pressure. Im hoping the owner wises up and realizes that just because this is "beermoney" or "GPT" its still a business and something that needs some professionalism. Until then.. not somewhere I would trust earning from. There are other very good alternatives out there.

Rewardable - Last Month they were labeled a possible questionable site. Which suddenly brought them out of the woodwork and say that they arent. Then they paid people who messaged them... BUT they still arent paying anyone in the app queue. This is wrong. Not everyone checks reddit to know that the only way to get paid is to message them.

They engaged me in PM and asked how I would handle things, claiming they are doing this because of a hacker. But when I responded asking the hard questions about why their site is so vulnerable in the first place, they no longer answered.

KoinMe/RewardRack - Add this one to the sites that have gone silent and havent paid out recently. The rep on their discord has disappeared. No payments for a couple months. No communication. Ads are still playing for some people. But between these guys and rewardable, its sure looking like passivity is almost dead.

Whats New: (New programs Ive been checking out)

  • Perksy - Found this from u/Goldeneye0242 great post a few days ago.

  • Honeygain - Have ran this for about a month now. Has issues, especially with android it seems, but seems to be a good background earner for PCs. Doesnt seem to come with the same issues as Packetstream.

  • Cocoon Browser - I mentioned this last month. IVe ran it since then and right now its on my too good to be true list. I wont do more then mention it here until I see if they pay.

  • Current Music App - Heard this was already nerfed some. But gonna try it out over the next month.

Whats News:

  • Earning Station closed at the end of June as they had announced.
  • With only about a weeks warning, Live Sample Survey router also announced it was shutting down at the end of June. One of the most popular survey routers, this will mean earnings will take a hit across many sites that had this router
  • Crowdtap released an app. Now you can do micro surveys on the go. But its still much better on desktop with /u/fjleon 's script
  • I officially have a developer working on my long talked about site. No ETA as the database building from the backend is going to take a while. But am excited that things are moving forward.
