Make Money Passively With Brave Browser (Method) $10+/month + $10 Bonus

Hey guys!

I've recently made the full switch from Chrome to Brave Browser for many reasons... faster browsing (actually, though, wow), better ad/tracking/script blocking, smoother overall experience, and of course, rewards.

Just an FYI, this post is only relevant if you're 18+ since this all will require ID verification.

Make Money w/ Brave

For starters, if you already have the Brave browser installed, I want to remind/inform you that you can still earn $10 BAT (the cryptocurrency backed by Brave) from coinbase.com/earn. You'll earn $3 from watching videos and answering (insanely easy) quiz questions, and then $7 for having the browser.

If you have not yet installed brave, they actually are currently running a $1 million promotion where content creators can refer people to download the browser for $5 each. If you'd prefer to download it without any benefit, you can download directly through Coinbase.com/earn if you're going that route, or download it here.

Please feel free to begin a referral train in the comments below.

At this point you should have the browser installed and you should be able to easily earn the $10 BAT from coinbase, plus $5 from anyone you refer (referral bonuses take up to a month to post, btw!)

Now we're ready to move into the meat.

How Brave Rewards Works

As you browse the internet (like usual!) you'll begin to see ads by Brave. These ads will show up even while you're using adblockers, and they will pop up as ads like desktop notifications. Each ad you receive (regardless of your interaction) will currently net you +0.05 BAT (roughly $0.02 at current exchange rates).

Here's the catch:

You can't cash out your earnings.

Nope.

Brave's ecosystem is planned to work so that people who view the internet will see ads, which will put BAT in their wallet, which then each month will be donated to content creators they watch/read/engage with the most over the course of the month. It's actually a really great concept on paper, but in reality I'd prefer to support creators I enjoy by just disabling my adblocker and giving back by other means. Turns out a lot of people feel this way, too.

There is, however, a workaround method (I'll talk about in a moment) that allows for you to receive your own BAT at the end of the month.

Passive Brave Browser Method

Preface: Many people think of methods as being 'TOS benders', meaning that in order for the method to work properly, you'll need to break rules in order to make money. This method is 100% in line with the TOS of Brave Rewards, and I'll get into the specifics of what you should know and look out for below.

1) In order to begin earning passively with Brave Rewards, you'll need to enroll in the program.

To enroll, just visit the following in your navbar:

brave://rewards

2) Turn on ads. If you're looking to collect your own BAT, you'll probably want to disable auto-contribute (a feature that automatically donates your BAT to the sites you visit).

Tip: Also to maximize your earnings, click on the 'ads settings' under the ads slider, and select 5 ads/hour. This doesn't mean you're guaranteed to get 5 ads per hour, but that's the maximum you'll get.

3) Since you need to donate your BAT to content creators, you'll need to register yourself as a creator to donate to yourself.

  • You'll need to register your website, youtube channel, or Twitch channel.
  • Visit your channel or website and it'll look something like this
  • Register for Brave Creators here and link your site/YT/Twitch.
  • Your site/channel should now look like this.
  • You'll need to link/sign up for an account with Uphold (ID verification required).

4) The first week of the following month you'll have all tips you received from the previous month added to your account. Make sure to donate your BAT to your own channel.

Important Questions/Details

Q: What are the earning limits?

There is currently a daily cap of approximately 21 ads.

This doesn't mean you'll see 21 ads, though. From my experience I'll get 1-2 ads per hour of active use.

Q: Are you allowed to donate to yourself like this?

Yes and no, but mostly yes. Any earnings from Brave rewards are allowed to be donated to anyone, including yourself. If you receive a grant of BAT from Brave (basically you'll sometimes get some BAT for free just because and it usually will expire), they want you to donate that to someone other than yourself. Source.

Q: Brave Rewards is not in my country????

Brave Rewards is still new, and they're planning to make rewards available to almost any country but it may take a while. This if answered a bit better here. If it says brave rewards is still coming soon, make sure your browser is up to date.

Q: Why not just let me withdraw my BAT to my own wallet instead of donating it to someone?

Actually, they're currently working on adding this feature.

Brave is also working on an option to let users withdraw BAT from their wallets for personal use, converting their BAT to a local fiat currency through exchange partners.

If you want to you could wait to do anything with your Brave Rewards until the cash out option is available in the hopefully near future. Source.

These are just some of the questions I found to be more important. If you want to see some more good FAQs, feel free to check out the dev reddit post here, or the actual FAQ here.

Conclusion

I've actually been using Brave Rewards as my main browser now. Goodbye Chrome. Although brave basically is google chrome, but a bit nicer looking, faster, safer, and has rewards. You can bring along all your same extensions, autofill settings, bookmarks.. pretty much everything, with the advantage of rewards and additional safety/privacy. I find very little downside to using Brave.

As always feel free to leave any questions/comments below, or shoot me a PM if you ever have a question or want to talk about anything beermoney :)

Also feel free to start a referral train in the comments once you sign up to become a creator.
