iMoney now requiring ID?

I’ve been using iMoney for a bit and they are now requiring me to take a photo of me with my ID since there’s been a lot of “scamming” or something. I’m kind of weary of this because it’s a Chinese company and obviously it’s a little sketchy of an app. I’ve been paid before and never had this issue. Has anyone done this and been fine?
