Any way i can make a profit out of my skills/trade outside of a full time job?

Long story short, im a welder/fabricator right now working full time. I have a pt cert and extensive knowledge on the subject. No following though. I would do welding jobs but i dont have a welder and i live in an apartment. Any advice?
