Survey Junkie - Get paid to take surveys
Survey Junkie
Like the name implies, Survey Junkie is a survey site. They use third party routers from sites like PollFish, Samplicio.us, Sample Cube, etc to provide surveys to their users. — Payment Proof
If you're going to sign up, I highly recommend going to the AdGate wall on a GPT site such as GG2U (you can get a ref link to the premium version of GG2U here). They have an offer titled "Take Surveys, Get Paid." which will give you around $13 once you reach $10 on Survey Junkie. The offer credited within a couple minutes of hitting the minimum cashout amount.
The Basics
Minimum Cashout | $10 |
Cashout Options | PayPal (USA residents must have a verified account), e-gift cards (USA only), and direct bank transfers (USA only) |
Minimum Age | 13 |
Countries | USA, Canada, and Australia. |
Sign up requirements | Email (Facebook and Google signin available), Password, First & Last Name, Zip Code. |
Cash out requirements | First & Last Name, Address, Zip Code, City, State, Birth Date, and Phone Number. They will send you a text for verification, and you will receive 50 points ($0.50) for giving this information and confirming your phone. You will also need your PayPal email (if choosing PayPal) and bank info (if choosing a bank transfer). |
Referral Program | There is no referral program. |
Point Expiration | Your points will expire if you haven't completed a survey within 12 months. |
Tax Info | Their FAQ says that they send out a 1099 if you earn more than $600 in a calendar year. |
Contacting Support | They have their own contact support form on their help page, but you can probably email support@surveyjunkie.com as well. They claim to respond within 48 hours Monday-Friday. I sent a message on Friday and got a reply first thing Monday morning. |
Pros
-
PayPal is instant.
-
You get points for being disqualified. I was getting 3 points ($0.03) at first, but it dropped to 2 ($0.02) after a while.
Cons
-
You may have to answer their phone call. We've had a lot of complaints about this around our subreddit; however, I did not get a phone call. I did have to verify my phone number via text though.
-
The pay is awful most of the time. Most surveys I see are under $3/hour.
-
The website won't refresh unless you have it in focus, and it's very slow. You might as well refresh the page yourself.
-
They SPAM you with emails about surveys - I got 7 in under 24 hours. But on the up side, they do stop quickly if you unsubscribe.
-
You get DQ'd quite a bit. I've seen sites that are worse, but I still got DQ'd from 75% of the surveys I took despite having my profile filled out (or they expired halfway through, crashed, etc...) This happens with all survey routers though, so it isn't unexpected.
-
There's no referral program. They have an affiliate program, but they ask for a lot of info including your company info and your SSN.
-
All of your balance is cashed out when redeeming with PayPal. You can't choose to get an even number like $10.
Overall opinion
Honestly speaking, I don't like this website. The survey pay is ridiculously low, and many people complain about various problems with their site. I don't like how I have to have the page in focus for it to refresh, and even then it doesn't always get the new surveys which forces me to refresh again. There are a couple surveys here and there that pay semi-decently, but I probably won't stick around after cashing out. It took me over a week to get to $10 while only doing surveys that paid $6/hour or more - half of that was from one survey.
However, there is currently a deal on offer walls where you get ~$13 if you can get 1k points ($10) on Survey Junkie. If you haven't signed up for Survey Junkie before and don't mind waiting around for decent-ish surveys to pop up, then give it a shot. If you're going to sign up, I recommend using GG2U (you can get a ref link to the premium version of GG2U here) to do the offer.
